If your company is not in the report or you need more detailed information, you can benefit from a tailored benchmarking and assessment report. You can do this yourself and/or get our support or we will do it for you.

Your company is part of the Index: Obtaining a premium analysis?
Order the fully annotated report specific to your blog(s). Each report has commentary on each of the eight to sixteen sub-metrics, as well as scores we obtained using our algorithms.

Published rankings are only the surface of performance evaluation while our customised report provides you with deeper insight into performance relative to other high performing blogs.

The cost is €967 plus VAT (where applicable). The analysis is adapted from our highly respected corporate benchmarking methodology (see Methodology). Even a lighter treatment provides 2,400+ words of commentary. We do not use a checklist approach: our experts use our methodology and are social media experts.

The analysis provided is valuable information that can be used to drive your continuous quality improvement process. Commentary provides expert recommendations regarding a blog’s strengths and weaknesses that helps developt actionable metrics for reaching your strategic goals faster.  The price quoted is for a single corporate weblog report. You can elect to have competitors or other blogs analyzed as comparisons: the cost increases on a sliding scale according to the total number of blogs reviewed.

The comparative information provided also helps improve the ranking of a company blog and are useful for convincing management by providing non-theoretical insights. Data provide a realistic comparison with peers and can be repeated at a later date to demonstrate progress over time.

Why do I need this? What are the benefits?

These solutions help companis to establish a feel for best practice within the chosen area and also to promote continuous improvement. As importantly, the method enables some comparisons with peers. Some benefits are:

1. Our expert reviews dig beneath the surface of a blog and reveal whether its performance matches its looks.

2. Constructive, detailed and independent feedback provides a clear ‘to do’ list that will assist your social media and communications team(s).

3. Identification of your blog’s strengths and weaknesses helps target resources where they can be most effective and deliver a competitive advantage.

4. Best practice pointers illustrate who has mastered the issues you are facing and provide ideas that can be adapted to your specific needs.

5. Benchmarking is the basis for ongoing measurement and direct comparison with peers, leading to a consistently high standard in your social media presence.

Is this an objective exercise?
The answer is ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. Some of the measures used are objective (i.e. based on facts such as incoming links), but the utility to the client is assessed for each measure of this kind. Hence, assessment and scoring also depends upon the objectives you want to achieve with your blog. Other metrics are less objective because they require that an expert’s interpretation be applied (e.g., whether the blog is corporate or private).

The key question is much more likely to be: How appropriate is the metric for assessing the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) you set for your blog?
