Ripple effect
ComMetrics Resonance Check is a composite index made up of the: => Conversation check, Consistency check (you are here), and the Ripple effect indices.d vv
This index addresses the ripple effect whereby a single action or event, such as a blog post result in a series of trackbacks.
These conversation ripples are an indication about the blog’s impact in the echo chamber or the blogosphere. Similar to a drop of water falling into a mountain like of still water, a blog post creates a ripple.
How it works
We calculate the index as follows. For instance, ComMetrics.com had 6 trackbacks and 5 posts during the month of November:
(6/5) = a RI of 1.2 for November 08
Besides the monthly based data as shown above to explain our concept better, we also use:
- – weekly – monthly (default) – quarterly, and – annual scores
In turn, comparisons can be made visualizing the trends for your blog as well as those you are comparing yourself against.
